PERFECTLY MAMBO INTENSIVE SALSA WORKSHOPS: 13-14 April 2024

Join us for a fun weekend of introduction to mambo dancing, where, in addition to learning how to dominate the dance floor, you can make connections with fellow dance enthusiasts and make new friends!

What is mambo: Mambo is a variation of salsa dancing that's characterized by fluid, elegant moves, rapid footwork, beautiful hand and arm movements, and freedom for the dancers to express themselves individually by performing "shines" during specific parts of the salsa song.

What is the weekend about: During 6 hours - 3 on Saturday (15:30–18:30) and 3 on Sunday (15:30–18:30), you will learn the basics of mambo dancing, focusing on connection, musicality, and simple yet elegant moves that will allow you to get out on the dance floor and enjoy the flow. We will strive to have an equal number of leaders and followers and rotate the participants so each lady can dance with each gentleman during the workshop and practice with every person present at the event. 6 hours of learning will give you a much better exposure to the foundations of mambo than a one-hour weekly class ever could, and you will be able to get out on the dance floor afterward and actually dance!

After class on Saturday, we can share a meal together at Café Cuba, getting to know each other even better.

Who will be your teachers: The workshop will be taught by Association Perfectly Mambo (we have been dancing mambo for over 20 years!) and our guest teacher Fernando from BeYou Dance Studio. The workshop will be taught in both French and English.

Where will the workshop be held? At the Maison Internationale des Associations (MIA), right next to Place de Cirque in Geneva. The dance studio is downstairs once you enter MIA.

Costs: In order to cover the cost of renting the dance studio and paying our teachers, we charge CHF 95.- (EUR 97) per person for the 6-hour workshop (this is just over CHF 15.- an hour, which is quite modest for Geneva). The funds go directly to the Association's account and are not attributed to the organizers in their personal capacity.

Registration: We will confirm your place once you confirm your attendance and process the payment. This is important for us to ensure equal numbers of leaders and followers at the workshop. Thank you for your understanding!
