Solo movement / shines workshop
with Amanda Cardona (New York)
Amanda has been a professional dance instructor since 2000. She is the creator of the Boogaloo project, dedicated to preserving the history of Latin Boogaloo music and dance, and educating others about it. She's one of the smoothest mambo dancers we've ever met, and she's both an incredible leader and follower (if you saw her on the dance floor this weekend, you know!). She is known for her unique grace, style, and elegance, and she's mesmerizing to watch on the dance floor!
On Saturday, she'll teach a special workshop of 1.5 h focusing on shines/solo movement. You will learn to move with elegance and grace, without rushing your steps, without thinking too hard how to time your shines to the music, and looking fabulous in the process! This workshop is designed for both leaders and followers. No dance partner is required.
The workshop is not included with the party pass, but you may still book it online or pay for it at the venue.

Guided tour: Geneva - city on the water
15:30 - 17:30
(Limited to 20 people, in English)
Free
Discover the close bond that the city of Geneva and its inhabitants have always shared with the ever-present water! What were the bathing habits of Geneva residents? Why did the lake pose a danger? What role did water play in medical care?
Water has always played a major part in the daily lives of the Genevois, and this walk invites you to uncover its secrets. Several of the city’s streets and buildings still bear traces of this connection with the ever-present water. You can also enjoy a trip on a "Mouette", the city’s iconic water bus!
The tour will start in Jardin Anglais, next to the National Monument behind the Flower Clock (for those who went on a tour on Friday, this is where the tour ended). Please arrive 10-15 minutes early, if possible.
The tour will last 2 hours and will be held in English.

Afternoon social
OptimHall
15:00 - 20:00
Evening social
22:00 - 05:00
@ OptimHall, 4 chemin de la Gravière, 1227 Acacias, Geneve
We'll open the ball at our main venue, the beautiful OptimHall, which refurbished its dance floor last year to better accommodate our dancers!
Doors will open at 21:50. Please bring your passes (either printed or ready on your phone) and have them ready for scanning at the door!
Dress code (optional): "Welcome to Switzerland." Let your fantasy run wild. You may wear red and white, get dressed in cheese patterns, or wear your best cow-print dress.
During the night, you'll have free water, tea, coffee, and snacks. We'll have reusable glasses, but feel free to bring your reusable water bottle if you wish.
During the party, we encourage you to dance with at least 3 people you've never danced with before, and to ask at least once someone who's standing by the wall to dance. Trust us, this will make their day, and you may discover rare gems!
Free parking is available at the Aligro supermarket across the street from 19:30 to 6 am.

How to get to OptimHall (our evening venue)
The venue is a short walk from both the Starling Hotel Residence and Swiss Home Hotel (under 10-12 minutes). If you are staying at Ibis Petit Lancy, you can either walk down or take tram 14 to Jonction (direction Meyrin) and walk 4 minutes from the Jonction tram stop.
